Primer & mastic for DENSOLEN® tapes and tape systems
DENSOLEN® Primers and DENSOLEN® or respectively DENSIT® Mastic are butyl rubber based products.
A primer is essential for DENSOLEN® tape systems. DENSOLEN® Primer clearly improves adhesion to metallic surfaces. Using the tape system without a primer will not meet industry standard requirements.
DENSOLEN® Primers consist of butyl rubber and unsaponifiable resins in petroleum spirit. DENSOLEN® Primer HT, HT25 and MT25 differ in the temperatures for their intended use. For European climate conditions, DENSOLEN® Primer HT is to be used.
DENSOLEN®-Mastic WP and DENSIT®-Mastic W and WP are used as fillers in combination with DENSOLEN tape systems. These permanently plastic, hand shapeable butyl rubber fillers allow uneven places in metal surfaces to be filled and then wrapped void-free using DENSOLEN® tape systems.
Butyl rubber mastic WP is supplied in profile form, DENSIT®-Mastic W as a 1kg bar.
