TOK^®-Band T

TOK^®-Band T is a bitumen profile made from polymer-improved road bitumen. The special formulation gives it very good elastic and adhesive qualities, especially at low temperatures, and it is equivalent in quality to hot poured compounds. It is available as a fusible or self-adhesive joint tape. TOK^®-Band T and its accompanying primer TOK-Primer SK have in accordance with TL/TP Fug-StB 01 (Technische Lieferbedingungen/Prüfvorschriften für Fugenfüllstoffe in Verkehrsflächen, Technical Terms of Delivery/Test Provisions for Joint Filling Materials in Traffic Surfaces) been tested with regard to the requirements for rail joint compounds and as a fusible joint tape and meet the test requirements in either case. In further trials, they also met the requirements of TL bitFug 82 for bituminous hot poured compounds.

Uses

TOK^®-Band T is used for sealing joints, mainly in asphalt road construction, which are subject to especially high demands. One example is track construction where the joints to rails have to absorb extensive movement. TOK^®-Band is successfully used in such cases by many public transport companies.
